Churchill Douglas G

Originally imagined with WW1 in mind, the Churchill found itself fighting in completely different circumstances in WW2.
One Major quality from its design was its incredibly thick armour. Seriously, these things had 102 mm worth in the front of the hull alone! For reference, a tiger 1 had 100mm. Every bit counts when you’re out on the field.
Despite its weight, they could climb steep hills and difficult terrain easily. They were among the heaviest Allied tanks of the time. Certainly, before the latter half of the war. Thanks to the Lend-Lease Program, you found a few of these in the Soviet Union as well
Despite what a lot of people think, they were NOT named after Winston Churchill. They were named after JOHN Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough.

Douglas Wilder Trench Gascoigne, Captain 124550, No. 3 Squadron, 4th (Tank) Battalion Coldstream Guards. Killed in action on the 6th of August 1944, aged 26
