Bedford

Bedfords were first rolled into the British army in 1939; they proved to be adorable, reliable little things.
Despite being one of the most produced British trucks (over 60,000, with many still in use in the 1950s), Bedfords were poorly suited for serious off-road use. It still had a good engine and light weight, many guys who drove it said it felt like driving a sports car.
In the back, we got a Kübelwagon, or kübelsitzwagen, “Bucket-seat car”!
The Kubel was basically Volkswagen’s beetle, made for the Army. It was Germany’s peer to the Gaz-series of cars and my beloved Willy’s MB.
